The top left plot shows an increase in global MI as the algorithm progresses; also the upper bound of the achievable global MI is shown. The top right plot shows the decrease in displacement error as the algorithm progresses. The bottom left plot shows comparison between our algorithm and the globally increasing DOF method in terms of global MI values. The bottom right plot shows comparison of two methods in terms of displacement errors. The bottom row plots show that our algorithm has achieved comparable global MI and displacement error values with far fewer control points than the global increasing DOF method.
